![]() "Over the past few months, I’ve had the chance to meet and work alongside a real fighter, Colonel Alan Swain. Alan shares the values that I have fought so deeply for nearly sixty years. He embodies what it means to be a true servant leader. I’ve been happy to join him on several of his campaign’s endeavors to make a difference in our communities and provide real, decisive leadership. In May, I joined him here in the Triad as he led an effort, alongside the North Carolina Asian American Coalition, to donate over 70,000 pieces of PPE to frontline medical heroes throughout the Carolinas. I even joined Alan on a virtual town hall, where we discussed the incredible importance of upholding public safety and encouraging peaceful protest in our state and nation. Before Alan became the citizen statesman he is today, he served as a citizen soldier. Like myself, Alan selflessly served our country in the U.S. Army. He served for 26 years and retired as a Colonel. After service, he went on to help start a small business that swiftly became a success. As I noted in my speech at the Republican National Convention, our country faces many problems today. Our Congress desperately needs new leadership that will stand strong for our values and work tirelessly to build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren. Our Congress needs leaders who know how to navigate gridlock and work with members of both sides to make progress. I know that Colonel Swain is our best hope for this new leadership, and today, I’m proud to provide my full endorsement of Alan as he runs to represent North Carolina’s Second District in Congress." - Clarence Henderson Comments are closed.
